About SIP

Commercialization of achievements from the Cross-Ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP) of Japan's Cabinet Office.

SIP is a national program led by the Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (CSTI) of the Japanese Government with interdisciplinary management to realize scientific and technological innovation in our country. SIP covers not only from basic research to practical use but also commercialization, targeting on realization of Society 5.0.
In the 2nd term, under the theme of Automated Driving (enhancement of systems and services), SIP has established DIVP® consortium in 2018, aiming at building up safety evaluation environment in virtual space. The consortium consists of industry-government-academic (IGA) initiative to make all Japan team and attacks the important issues of safety evaluation for automated driving, for example validation and verification of sensor weakness under the various traffic environment.
BIPROGY attended the research consortium with the technology of computer graphics (CG) and ICT to develop the real=virtual consistent simulation model.

Significance of DIVP®

Problems of automated driving system development.

Establish the safety evaluation methods for automated driving vehicle.

Getting safety and reliability are the most important issue before practical use and prevalence of automated driving.
The prime task is the establishment of safety evaluation methods for automated driving vehicle.

Demand for simulation.

Covering all the matters that will happen on the public road by real vehicle test is extremely difficult and takes a lot of workload and time.

Virtual test Accumulation of data Real vehicle test
